You’ve paid. You’ve survived the beeping. You’ve bagged your items with the speed of a professional Tetris player. Now you have to get back to your car, which is still in ‘Sunderland’. The walk back feels longer. The bags cut into your fingers.
You realise you forgot the one thing you came for: the milk. But you have a pouffe, a dinosaur costume, and some gardening shears. Success. You load the boot, and as you drive away, you take one last look in the rearview mirror.
You’ll be back next Thursday. Because that’s just how life works. The Asda on Queens Road isn’t just a supermarket. It’s a community theatre where we all play a starring role, whether we like it or not. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
