Here’s the thing: a Blue Badge doesn’t give you permission to abandon your car anywhere you fancy. It’s not a Forcefield of Lawlessness. What it does do, however, is let you bend certain parking rules—including those dreaded double yellow lines. In most cases, you can park on double yellows for up to three hours without a ticket. Yes, you read that right: three hours. That’s probably longer than it takes to watch an extended edition of Avengers: Endgame.
But—and this is a big, fat, ironic but—you cannot park where there’s a loading ban or clear “no waiting” signs. You also can’t park on the zig-zag lines near pedestrian crossings. (That’s just common sense, Sheila.) The badge is about accessibility, not about turning your car into a permanent garden ornament.
