As it turns out, spray paint can indeed go bad - but not in the way you might think. The paint itself doesn't necessarily expire, but the propellant that helps it spray out of the can does. Over time, the propellant can start to break down, making the paint harder to spray or resulting in a weak stream.
But don't worry, fellow crafty friend! This doesn't mean you have to toss out your old spray paint just yet. With a little know-how and care, you can still get plenty of use out of it. Simply shake the can well before using, and try to store it in a cool, dry place to slow down the breakdown process.
