Next episode? He’s in a hospital bed, grumpy. Bullet hit a non-vital spot. He’s fine. Just annoyed about the hospital food.
This is the pattern. The show fake-kills Wesley constantly. It’s a running gag at this point. A very expensive, dramatic gag.

Why He Survives (Besides Plot Armor)
First, he’s married to Angela Lopez. You don’t kill a cop’s husband unless you want a war. Second, he’s too funny to die.
His reactions are gold. "I’m a lawyer, not a hero." Yet he keeps punching above his weight class. It’s hilarious.
Third, he brings balance. The show is about cops. Wesley is the civilian lawyer who reminds them laws exist. You lose that, you lose a vital gear.
