Squat down again. Insert your index and middle fingers. Sweep gently towards your back (your tailbone area). Feel for a little nub of cotton or the string itself. Do not go all Indiana Jones on it. Be patient.
If you feel the cotton, pinch it (gently!) between your fingers and wiggle it out. If it’s a dry cotton plug, you might need to use a tiny bit of lube on your fingers. Does that feel weird? Yes. Is it better than a trip to the ER? Also yes.
