Take a soft sponge or a bottle brush—never use an abrasive scrubber, or you’ll scratch the plastic. Gently scrub the inside walls of the reservoir. Feel that little dip where the water sits? Get in there. Give the spigots some love too; unscrew them if you can and soak them in your solution.
After scrubbing, drain the solution completely into a sink or bucket. Then, rinse. And rinse again. And maybe one more time. You want zero vinegar taste in your first glass of water. Trust me, I learned this the hard way—I made pickle lemonade once. Not recommended.
