First, ask yourself: Do I really need this classroom? Google Classroom doesn’t punish you for hoarding old classes—it’s digital, after all. But a cluttered dashboard is like a messy kitchen counter; it steals your focus.
Think of Marie Kondo. Does this class spark joy? If not, thank it for the late-night grading and the accidental “Reply All” emails, then let it go. Plus, fewer classes mean faster loading times—a subtle win for your lazy Sunday morning.
Step One: The Archive Tango
You can’t delete a classroom fresh off the press. Google forces you to archive it first, like storing winter coats before donating them. Go to your Classroom homepage, find the three dots on the class card, and select Archive.
This moves the class to a hidden folder, out of sight but not gone. It’s a safety net—like keeping an ex’s sweater “just in case” the weather turns. Don’t worry; we’re about to burn that sweater.
Step Two: The Final Goodbye
Now, navigate to the hamburger menu (top-left, those three lines) and click Archived Classes. You’ll feel like you’re entering a digital attic. Find the class you want to nuke, click the three dots again, and select Delete.
A warning will pop up: “This action cannot be undone.” It’s the tech equivalent of a horror movie villain saying, “Are you sure?” Take a breath. Click Delete. The class vanishes like a Snapchat story you didn’t screenshot.
