Pigeons love flat surfaces to land on. Deny them this pleasure. Put spikes on your fence rails. Not literal spikes—plastic ones, safe for birds. They make perching feel like torture.
You can also angle your bird bath. Put a big rock in the middle, so only small songbirds can balance. The pigeons will look at it, look at you, and wobble away in shame. It’s hilarious.
Another expensive but fun option: fishing line.
Stretch clear fishing line above your garden beds. Pigeons can’t see it. They try to land, hit it, and feel betrayed. They don’t understand. Is this magic? They will leave to find a less confusing yard.
