First things first, reading should be fun! It's like going on a treasure hunt, where they get to discover new worlds and meet new friends. So, try to make reading a positive experience for your child, by choosing books that they're really interested in.
For example, if they love animals, find a book about their favorite creature. Or, if they're into space, blast off into a book about adventures in the cosmos! The more they're engaged, the more they'll want to read and improve their comprehension skills.
And, just like how you would discuss a movie with your friends, have a chat with your child about what they've read. Ask them questions like "what did you like about the story?" or "what did you think was going to happen next?"
