Spiders love hiding in piles of stuff. Think of old newspapers, random boxes, and that one pile of laundry you’ve been “organizing” for three months. Those are spider condos. Clear those out and you’re kicking out their entire neighborhood.
Get a vacuum and go to town on the corners of your ceilings and behind the couch. A vacuum is basically a spider’s version of a tornado—and it cleans your carpet! Bonus points for using the crevice tool; it’s like a sniper rifle for cobwebs.
Don’t forget to shake out your shoes before putting them on. Nobody wants to do the “spider foot panic dance” in the morning. Trust me, I’ve done it. It’s not a good look.
Seal the Cracks (They’re Not “Air Vents”)
Spiders aren’t ninjas, but they’re close. They can squeeze through the tiniest gaps around windows, doors, and pipes. Grab some caulk—the stuff you use to fix bathtubs—and seal those gaps. It’s like putting a “No Vacancy” sign on your house.
Check your door sweeps, too. That half-inch gap under the front door is basically a red carpet for spiders. Install a new sweep, and bam—you’ve just turned your home into a fortress. A very cozy, spider-free fortress.
Also, invest in some weatherstripping. It keeps the cold out and spiders at bay. It’s a two-for-one deal that your wallet and your peace of mind will thank you for.
