Now, I know what you're thinking: "But wait, I'm an atheist because I only believe in things that I can see and touch!" And to that, I say, fair enough. However, the thing is, there are a lot of things in life that we can't see or touch, but that doesn't mean they're not real. I mean, have you ever seen a black hole? Nope, didn't think so, but that doesn't mean they're not out there, sucking up all the stars and whatnot.
The book "I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist" by Norman Geisler and Frank Turek explores this idea in more depth, and let me tell you, it's a wild ride. They argue that atheism requires just as much faith as any other belief system, and that it's not just about lacking belief in something, but about actively believing in something else. It's a pretty mind-blowing concept, if you ask me.
Now, I'm not saying that I agree with everything they say, but it's definitely food for thought. I mean, think about all the things that we can't explain in life, from the origin of the universe to the meaning of life itself. Maybe, just maybe, there's something more to it all than just random chance and scientific explanation.
