Lift your AC unit and slide it into the sleeve. It should click or lock into place. Check the manufacturer’s instructions—some units need screws, others just snuggle in. Make sure the power cord reaches an outlet without a surge protector. Appliances are divas about that.
Plug it in and turn it on. If it blows cold air, do a little happy dance. If it’s just a fan, double-check the settings. If sparks fly, run away and call an electrician—your AC is not a fire starter.
Finally, install the trim kit (a fancy plastic frame) around the inside of the hole. It hides the rough edges and makes your wall look like a pro did the work. You’ll feel like a home improvement wizard.
