Look, the closure of Tesco Express on Christmas Day says something nice about us as a society. It shows that even a massive corporation agrees: some days are too special for shopping. They don’t want the conveyor belts humming while families are unwrapping presents. That’s kind of beautiful, right?
Compare it to how in some countries, every supermarket closes for a whole afternoon for siesta. Christmas Day is basically the world’s biggest, most festive siesta. And you’re part of it. You don’t have to dash out in your pajamas; you can just vibe.

One more fun thought: Imagine if Tesco Express was open on Christmas. The staff would be scanning mince pies while wearing antlers, and the car park would be a frenzy of stressed-out drivers. That’s not relaxing. That’s Black Friday with tinsel.
Last-Minute Tips (for the Unprepared)
If you’re reading this on Christmas Eve, you still have time. Tesco Express closes early on Christmas Eve—usually by 6 or 7 PM. So sprint there now if you must. Grab the Essentials: milk, eggs, and a backup packet of biscuits.
After that, accept your fate with a smile. You might end up eating a cold sandwich, but you’ll also have a weirdly memorable story. And hey, isn’t that more interesting than a perfectly planned meal?
So, to circle back: Is Tesco Express open on Christmas Day? No, it is not. And honestly? That’s a good thing. Now go enjoy the quiet panic of being human, and maybe eat a few extra roast potatoes. You earned them.
Stay curious, and Merry Christmas.
