Darren Star, the genius behind Sex and the City and Emily in Paris, has been asked about Younger a billion times. His answer is always the same cagey dance: “Never say never.” That’s showbiz for “I have no plans, but don’t stop tweeting about it.”
Younger Season 8 - Trailer (2026) | Peter Hermann, Sutton Foster
And honestly, in the streaming era, anything is possible. Remember when Party of Five got a reboot? Or when Friends came back for that weird, glistening reunion? If the money is right, fictional worlds can be resurrected.
Here’s My Two Cents (As Your Coffee Buddy)
I think a Season 8 would be tough to pull off. The magic was in the lie—the whole “Liza is 40 pretending to be 26” tension. Once the truth came out, the engine sputtered. A new season would have to reinvent the wheel. And wheels are hard, man.
Plus, the cast has aged (as humans do). Sutton Foster is now 49. The joke of her “playing young” would feel forced. Unless they did a time jump? Liza at 50, dealing with menopausal publishing drama? Okay, I’d watch that. Someone call Darren Star.
