Honestly? No. Not having a loyalty card is a feature, not a bug. You don’t have to carry a keychain fob. You don’t have to remember your phone number. You don’t have to explain to a cashier that your app “just updated.” It’s freedom, baby.
Aldi superfan card: First-ever card granted to lucky shopper
Plus, Aldi’s prices are already absurdly low. A loyalty card would just be a distraction. It would give them an excuse to collect your data and sell it to a third party. “Free” points aren’t free. You’re paying with privacy. At Aldi, the only thing you’re handing over is a quarter, and you get it back when you’re done. That feels like a deal.
The one exception (because there’s always one)
If you live in the United Kingdom, you might be side-eyeing me right now. Because in the UK, Aldi did test a loyalty card program called “MyAldi.” But it was short-lived. It’s basically been shelved. So, unless you’re shopping in a very specific London borough from 2019, you’re out of luck. The rest of us are card-free, baby.
