You’re not just buying supplies. You’re also eating on Easter. And guess what? McDonald’s is a reliable beacon. Most locations are open, because who doesn’t want a McFlurry between church and brunch?
But here’s the weird part: Starbucks. It’s a 50/50 split. Drive-thrus are often open; inside seating is not. So you can get a Peppermint Mocha in April (which is bizarre but acceptable), but you can’t sit and sip it. You have to drink it in your car while listening to “Here Comes the Sun.” It’s a vibe.
And don’t forget Dunkin’. It’s the unofficial holiday coffee of the northeast. They are almost certainly open. You can get a dozen donuts and a full breakfast sandwich. For some reason, the donuts taste extra sugary on Easter. Maybe it’s the holiday spirit.
Why This Matters (More Than You Think)
This is fun because Easter is the quietest holiday. No massive fireworks. No turkey drunk-drama. It’s a gentle, pastel-colored day. And then you have the drama of “Is the store open or not?” It’s a tiny, low-stakes adventure.
Are Stores Open on Easter Sunday 2026?
You become a detective. You check Twitter feeds. You ask your neighbor. “Hey, is the CVS on Maple open?” It’s a community bonding experience. You discover that your neighbor’s cousin works at the pharmacy and he says they’re open until four. Suddenly, you have a plan.
Plus, think of the people you see. Easter shoppers are a special breed. They are either frantic parents buying one more plastic egg, or single people buying a single ham slice. We are all united by the same mission: survive the holiday with an adequate amount of candy.
