The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) flagged three products from a company called Joyful Learning Toys. These include a “Rainbow Clay” kit, a “Fairy Dust” slime set, and a “Vintage Truck” wooden model.
None of these are the kind of things you’d find in a bubble bath. They’re marketed for creative play—mixing, molding, and sniffing (kids do that, right?). The recall warns that the clay and dust may contain tremolite asbestos, a particularly nasty variant.
So why is asbestos showing up in 2026? It’s likely a trace contaminant in the talc used to make the products soft or powdery. This is the same drama that plagued high-end makeup a few years ago.
Here’s the kicker: asbestos fibers are invisible. You can’t spot them without a microscope, which makes this recall feel like a horror movie for the diaper set. But don’t toss your entire toy bin just yet.
