What makes this branch special isn’t the building—it’s the team. You can tell they actually like their jobs, which is rare in any retail setting. On my second visit (to pick up the glasses), the same optician remembered my name and asked about my weekend. Creepy? No. Charming? Yes. They even remembered I mentioned a scratch on my old pair and offered to polish it for free.
Vision Express Opticians - London - Bexleyheath | Vision Express
Location-wise, it’s right on the high street near the Broadway, easy to find even if you’re navigating with smudgy lenses (been there). They’ve got a little seating area where you can wait without feeling like you’re in a holding pen for eyeballs. It’s clean, modern, and the music isn't aggressively upbeat—just a pleasant low hum.
A Few Honest Points (Because I’m Not a Salesperson)
Okay, let’s keep it real. It can get busy on Saturday afternoons, so book ahead. The parking near the shop is typical Bexleyheath chaos (bring small change for meters). Also, if you’re looking for ultra-boutique designer frames (like, Margiela-level obscure), this isn’t that; it’s more about solid mid-to-high-range brands like Ray-Ban, Oakley, and a few lesser-known names.
But here’s the thing: I walked out seeing the world in 4K again. Not just literally—the experience made me feel less silly about neglecting my eyes. It’s the kind of place that treats your vision like a priority without treating you like a patient. And isn’t that the sweet spot?
So if you’re in Bexleyheath and your eyes are lying to you (like mine were), pop into Vision Express. Tell them you read a slightly sarcastic blog post from a guy who nearly drowned in a puddle. They’ll probably laugh, but they’ll also take care of you. Side bet: you’ll leave with new glasses and a weird urge to read street signs for fun.
