Now here’s where it gets really juicy. In 2017, Steven falls for Abi Branning. She’s pregnant with his child, and you think: "Oh, maybe he’s settling down." Nope. He fakes a brain aneurysm to keep her from leaving him – yes, another faked health crisis. This guy’s medical record should be a soap opera in itself.
But the universe (and EastEnders writers) had other plans. During a fight at the pub, Abi pushes Steven, he hits his head, and – you guessed it – a real brain aneurysm kills him. Dead for real this time. No resurrection. Poetic justice, anyone? He spent years lying about being sick, and then a genuine medical tragedy takes him out.
