Let’s be honest: most of us don’t wake up with a crisp mental schedule. We wake up like a slow-loading website—half there, half confused. You might stumble to the coffee maker, blink at the calendar, and ask the ether, “When does the 49ers game start?” It’s a question that feels as urgent as finding the TV remote when your partner is already sitting on it.
And here’s the kicker: the answer isn’t always the same. One week it’s a 1:00 PM kickoff, feeling as cozy as a Sunday brunch. The next week, it’s a 4:25 PM game, which sneaks up on you like a slow-moving traffic jam. You plan to run errands, but then you’re trapped in the grocery store checkout line, watching the game clock tick down on your phone.
The Monday and Thursday Curveballs
Then there are the “fun” days. Monday Night Football feels like a bonus episode of your favorite show—pure joy, but also a test of your willpower. You tell yourself, “I’ll just watch the first quarter,” and suddenly it’s 11:30 PM and you’re screaming at the TV about a fumble. Your coworkers will judge your tired eyes the next day, but hey, the 49ers were on.
And don’t even get me started on Thursday Night Football. It’s the week’s wild card, like finding a $20 bill in an old jacket. You’re not mentally prepared for a game on a work night, but you also can’t say no. So you scramble to make quick tacos, text your group chat “GAME TIME?!” and pray you don’t miss the national anthem.
