Oh, you’re thinking of our chilly northern friends? Good catch. In Scotland, their bank holidays are a bit different. They don’t get Easter Monday as an automatic day off for everyone. But they do get the early May bank holiday later. Don’t worry, Scotland. We still love you.
But for the rest of the UK (England, Wales, and Northern Ireland), April 6th, 2026 is the day. Circle it. Put a little bunny sticker next to it. You’re welcome.
Can You Move the Holiday?
No. Just no. Government says April 6th. The Easter bunny says April 6th. The Queen’s ghost probably mumbles it in a drafty castle. It’s set in stone. Or, set in chocolate. One of the two.
Honestly, don’t even try to argue. I once tried to convince my boss that “April 7th feels better.” She laughed. I didn’t go to work that Monday anyway. It was a power move. Or a mistake. Hard to tell.
