The PDC final is a January tradition, like pretending you’ll stick to a diet. It always takes place on the first week of January, usually on a Wednesday night. In 2026, that magical date is January 3rd.
So, if you don’t know what to do with yourself after the New Year’s Eve hangover has faded, you know. That’s the night. Mark it on your calendar in dartboard sharpie, not a wobbly pen.
The match kicks off around 8:00 PM UK time, but let’s be honest—you should tune in an hour early for the walk-ons. Those walk-ons are half the fun. You get guys like Peter “Snakebite” Wright with a full rainbow mohawk.
What About the BDO? The “Other” Darts?
Ah, the BDO. It’s like the plucky little brother who also plays darts, but with less TV money and more community center vibes. Their final used to happen in January too, but now it’s a bit of a moving target.
They’ve shuffled it to a different weekend, often in March or April. Honestly, it’s like trying to catch a slippery eel. My advice? If you’re googling “BDO final date,” just assume it’s happening when you least expect it—and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
But for the main event, the one with the darts players who look like they’ve wrestled a tiger for their shirt, stick with that first week of January. It’s a lock.
