If you live in a place with a real winter, you’re safe after the first hard frost. That’s your cue. Until then, keep an eye on your trash cans, don’t leave sweet drinks open, and for the love of all that is holy, don’t swat at them—they take it personally.
But if you’re in a warmer climate (hello, Texas and California), wasp season can stretch into December. You might even see them in January if it’s a mild winter. Sorry. That’s the price for perfect beach weather.
