Here’s a hot take: Joe Swift might be too cool for Chelsea now. He’s the gardening world’s equivalent of a rock star who decides to do an acoustic tour instead of a stadium show.
He’s been designing gardens for the super-rich in the Caribbean. He once built a terraced garden on a cliff in Cornwall that required a helicopter to deliver the plants. A helicopter! After that, does a temporary plot in a London park feel a bit… small?
Plus, Joe is a family man. He’s got two kids and a busy life outside of TV. Maybe, just maybe, he looked at the three-month, all-consuming build schedule for Chelsea and thought, “Nah, I’d rather go camping with the dog.” Radical, I know.
